Steve Straatmann is both vice president and co-founder of Sueños International. He takes his roles with the organization seriously, helping with fund-raising, public relations and his very favorite task, making the Guatemalan children smile and feel comfortable by being the "Oreo Hombre" and handing out cookies to all the kids as they bring their pets for care.
He is a supportive father with skills in photography, videography, and communication. Originally from rural Missouri, Steve moved to Colorado in 1971 to attend and graduate from Denver Automotive And Diesel College. Over the years, he has worked to make a difference in the community; President of The Colorado Service Station Dealers Association and Optimist Club. He has taught acting, sales and communication classes, both formally and informally. He has served on the Board of Directors on DCTV(community access television) and The Untouchables, Youth Repoire. He has volunteered his time to organize clinics for mentally challenged adults and conduct acting workshops in youth correctional facilities in Jefferson county.
